Engine Type

With the presentation of the new long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer L comes a new engine. Named the Hurricane, it is a 510 horsepower twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six married to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. This engine is standard on the stretched Grand Wagoneer L, although the standard-wheelbase trim can still be attained with the 471 horsepower 6.4-liter V-8 powertrain, but only on the introductory trim. Along with several four-wheel-drive systems, the Grand Wagoneer provides an adaptive air suspension that can raise its ride height up to 3.6 inches or lower it by a half-inch. It also includes 10 inches of ground clearance, up to two feet of water-fording capability, and a maximum tow rating of 9,860 pounds.

What’s new for 2023?

For 2023, the Grand Wagoneer L joins the lineup. Its wheelbase is seven inches longer than the standard Wagoneer, and it is a foot longer as well. These expansions are partly responsible for allowing considerably more cargo space to be available behind all three rows of seats. In addition, under the hood, the long-wheelbase variant is equipped with Stellantis’s all-new Hurricane engine.

Exterior Features

The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer has expanded. The Grand Wagoneer L adds 12 inches of overall length when compared to the typical Grand Wagoneer. It is also outfitted with a tri-pane panoramic sunroof that, when fully open, offers fresh air and magnificent views. Fully closed, it permits a clear look at the refined design of the accented painted black roof. There is even premium color-tinted glass that provides both parts flawless exterior aesthetic and privacy. Powerful LED headlamps can help keep the driver’s path visible through tumultuous weather. Additionally, by utilizing the key fob, the consumer has the ability to engage available power retractable running boards for simple entry and exit.

Interior Features

The 2023 Grand Wagoneer comes with standard three-row seating and space for either seven or eight passengers. A pair of second-row captain’s chairs are standard, but a bench seat is available for maximum passenger capacity. As it represents the luxury iteration of the typical Wagoneer, its cabin is brimming with elegant amenities, such as authentic wood accents and high-technology features. This grandiose Wagoneer offers a head-up display, a rear-seat monitoring system, customizable ambient interior lighting, and a camera-fed rearview mirror.

Entertainment

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Grand Wagoneer is its multifaceted infotainment system. Even without including the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, the Jeep’s dashboard is littered with screens. The center stack contains a 12.0-inch center touchscreen that is displayed above a 10.3-inch touchscreen with controls for the HVAC system. Beginning on the Series II trim, there is yet another 10.3-inch touchscreen for the front-seat passenger. Standard features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, and USB ports in all three rows. Every Grand Wagoneer is equipped with a powerful McIntosh stereo, but the Series II and above receive a more powerful 1,375-watt unit complete with 23 speakers.

Safety Features and Warranty

Not only is the Grand Wagoneer fitted with a suite of standard driver-assistance technology, but the luxury SUV is also available with an equally wide range of additional assists. These include a self-parking function, adaptive cruise control, and night vision with pedestrian and animal detection. A 360-degree surround view camera system utilizes synchronized cameras to help monitor active surroundings. There is also an available system dubbed drowsy driver detection that monitors steering wheel behavior and detects driver fatigue. As a matter of fact, a semi-autonomous mode that allows hands-free driving will eventually be offered. Jeep currently offers complimentary maintenance for three years and unlimited miles. The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles while the powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles.
