Under the hood of each 2023 Ram ProMaster van is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that accelerates up to 276 horsepower and provides 250 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. The ProMaster can tow up to 6,910 pounds and offers a maximum payload capacity of 4,680 pounds.
What’s new for 2023?
For the 2023 model year, Ram’s largest ProMaster work van receives a styling refresh that incorporates new headlamps, a reworked front bumper, and a revised front grille. In addition, the ProMaster can now be ordered with an extra-high roof option, making it an excellent vehicle for hauling cumbersome cargo or for being upfitted as a camper van. The hinged-style doors are a standard feature, but consumers also now have the choice to select a roll-up rear door design if they prefer. A new self-parking feature is currently available, too.

On the outside, the ProMaster gains an updated exterior for the 2023 model year. The van has obtained brighter halogen headlights as standard or optional LED headlights that provide 70 percent greater illumination than older, non-LED lights. A three-piece front fascia now positions those lights outside of the low-speed crash zone and provides a modular bumper with a step included to easily reach the windshield for cleaning and changing wiper blades. Additional exterior features are a new, optional Black Appearance Package with badging, a black grille, and alloy wheels, along with two new colors, Spitfire Orange and Ceramic Gray.
Interior Features
The 2023 ProMaster allows the driver to have an extensive, wide-angle view of the road. The overall design is fairly attractive, with the Ram van’s dashboard incorporating a large and easily accessible storage tray just underneath the glovebox. Those that need to seat several occupants can select the Crew Van package, which includes a second row of seats that will fit up to three people.

Every 2023 ProMaster comes equipped with a user-friendly infotainment system that broadcasts information on a 7.0-inch touchscreen unit in the gauge cluster. An even larger 10.0-inch display is also available. Both touchscreens rely on the latest Uconnect5 software, permitting over-the-air updates as well as offering a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. Moreover, these units allow two devices to simultaneously connect through Bluetooth, include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and have an Amazon Alexa voice-assistant feature.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2023 Ram ProMaster has a host of safety features, including Crosswind Assist, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning, post-collision braking, and a rear backup camera with dynamic gridlines. Traffic Sign Recognition, Drowsiness Detection, keyless entry for all doors, and a push-button starter are also considered standard fare. There are also optional safety features, such as Parallel and Perpendicular Parking Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent Speed Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go. As far as the ProMaster’s warranty is concerned, the limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles, while the powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles.
