The new 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L has been named a winner of the prestigious Wards 10 Best Interiors & User Experience (UX) award for 2023. The vehicle boasts an array of features, including a spacious interior, graceful materials, state-of-the-art technology, and comfortable seating, all of which helped it earn the highly-coveted honor. Wards editor Christie Schweinsberg claimed, “The stellar combination of supple materials, comfortable seating, cavernous room, and a plethora of good-looking displays and well-functioning technologies, including high-res rear entertainment screens with built-in Amazon Fire TV, make the Wagoneer L a 2023 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX winner.”
A History of Accolades
This is not the first year Jeep has been privy to this prize. In 2022, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer had only been available for purchase for one year, yet it quickly became a ‘Unanimous Choice’ for the 2022 Wards 10 Best Interiors and User Experience Award. The automobile came equipped with refined, first-rate materials, such as textured metal trim and Blue Agave leather. Jeep officially brought back the Grand Wagoneer in March of 2021. It used to be a very popular trim, and Jeep upgraded the 2022 variant to compete with top-of-the-line large SUVs. For example, Jeep filled the Grand Wagoneer with upscale finishes and materials, like real metal accents and walnut wood, and high-end leather seats.
The Required Criteria
In the 2022 model year, Wards combined the Wards 10 Best Interiors and Wards 10 Best User Experience awards into a single awards program because the two categories are so closely intertwined. According to Wards, evaluated vehicles incorporated new or heavily redesigned vehicle interiors and user-experience technology. Wards analysts assessed the automobiles on a variety of aspects, including:
- Aesthetics and design of the interior
- Material quality, fit and finish
- Connectivity and infotainment
- Comfort and usability of controls and features
- Instrument-panel design, information delivery and ease of operation
- Advanced driver-assist systems
- Overall value
The Attributes of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L
The 2023 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L trims are 12 inches longer overall than the standard-wheelbase trims, with a 130-inch wheelbase and up to 44.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. This makes them ideal for accommodating up to eight passengers while also providing an abundant amount of cargo room for oversized gear.
In addition, the Wagoneer L boasts a new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane standard-output inline-six-cylinder engine, three available 4×4 systems, and best-in-class towing capability of up to 10,000 pounds. The vehicle is also outfitted with advanced safety and technology features to help it be one of the most impressive large SUVs on the market.
Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America declared, “This double honor from Wards — for both the best interior and the best user experience — is strong validation that the all-new Wagoneer L delivers on its mission of being the best large SUV on the market today.”
When the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L made their appearance, the automaker put its rivals on notice that the SUVs were designed to compete with the best of the best, just like the Grand Wagoneer the year before. The vehicles appear to be more than holding their own in that fight.
