The 2023 Dodge Charger and Challenger are getting a distinguished send-off with matching Mopar special edition packages. These packages, dubbed the ‘23 Mopar Special Edition package, will be available exclusively on the R/T Scat Pack Widebody trims of the Charger and Challenger. Even though the mechanical aspects of the cars will remain unchanged, the packages will add unique exterior and interior features. This article delves into what these special editions have to offer.
Tailor-Made Presentation
The ‘23 Mopar Special Edition package will grant the Challenger and Charger a distinctive appearance. Both cars will come equipped with black 20-inch wheels and Pitch Black paint. In addition, they will display matte-black body graphics and Mopar Blue accents on the hood, trunk lid, front and rear brake calipers, and roof. Of note, the trunk lid will be made of carbon fiber, a material that is unavailable on any production trim. These visual enhancements will make the special edition Challengers and Chargers attract attention on the road.
Mike Koval, head of Mopar North America, expressed satisfaction with the elements of refinement couched within these emblematic cars: “Our iconic two-door and four-door muscle cars from Dodge are perfect vehicles to continue our annual tradition of offering exclusive, performance-oriented, low-volume packages of quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories from the Mopar Custom Shop. With striking matte black and Mopar Blue accents, both Mopar ‘23 models will turn heads and be sought after by performance enthusiasts and collectors alike.”
Exclusive Interior Characteristics
Inside the ‘23 Mopar Special Edition vehicles, drivers will find gleaming door sills that incorporate a dash of elegance. The trunk and floor mats will also feature Mopar logos, lending a unique touch to the interior. As an added bonus, each car will come outfitted with an exclusive Mopar owner’s kit. This kit includes a metal certificate of authenticity with a serialized vehicle-build number, as well as a rendering of the automobile courtesy of Mopar’s design team. These memorable details make the interior of these limited-edition cars even more special.
Production Limits
It is worth noting that Mopar will only produce a total of 440 special edition Challengers and Chargers, with 40 of them allocated for Canada. This means that there will be 200 Challengers and 200 Chargers available for customers in the United States. In other words, if a consumer yearns to get their hands on one of these special editions, they must act quickly. Each package will cost an additional $3,995 on top of the base prices of the cars, which are $55,855 MSRP (Plus destination fee) for the Challenger and $57,920 MSRP (Plus destination fee) for the Charger. Orders for the special editions are set to open in September of the 2023 model year, with production scheduled to begin shortly after. Meanwhile, deliveries are expected to commence in October 2023.
Departing with Finesse
The 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger are prepared to be discontinued by the end of 2023, making these special editions a fitting farewell to these iconic muscle cars. Indeed, Mopar’s ‘23 Mopar Special Edition package integrates traces of customization and exclusivity to these already robust and aesthetically pleasing vehicles.
