On April 1, 2024, the Chrysler brand and the Autism Society of America completed a one-year partnership initiative aimed at supporting the driving needs of individuals in the Autism community. This collaboration was announced in April 2023, during Autism Acceptance Month, and is the result of the two organizations coming together to make travel more comfortable for individuals with Autism and their loved ones.

To mark the first anniversary of this partnership, Chrysler delivered three 2024 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles for use in the Autism Society’s Road to Acceptance project. This project features early spring road stops in cities across the United States, including New York City, Washington D.C., Boston, and Austin, in branded Chrysler Pacifica vehicles to create and capture community stories.

Moreover, Chrysler has also introduced a Calm Cabin package that can be added to any Chrysler Pacifica to create a sensory-supported mobile experience that eases the challenges of on-road travel. This package was launched in April 2023, at the start of the collaboration.

Chrysler’s Investment

The Autism Society is the oldest and largest grassroots Autism organization in the country, and the partnership with Chrysler is a testament to their commitment to making the world a more inclusive place for individuals with Autism. The two organizations hope to continue working together to support the needs of the Autism community in the years to come. Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the enterprise, stating, “The Chrysler brand is proud to continue our long-term partnership with the Autism Society of America as we work together to support and enhance the mobility needs of those in the Autism community.” She added, “The Chrysler Pacifica with the Calm Cabin package makes life on the road more comfortable, safer and a little easier, and we’re excited to collaborate with the Autism Society moving forward to find more ways to make the driving experience even more harmonious.”

Indeed, in 2023, Chrysler organized ride-and-drive experiential events across the United States to promote its Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid. For every participant, the brand pledged to donate $50 to the Autism Society, resulting in a generous donation of $100,000 to the organization. Not only that, the Chrysler Pacifica offers over 400 early development applications that cover a varied range of categories, including education, streaming entertainment, music, and games. These applications are easily accessible through Amazon Fire TV, a feature incorporated into the minivan’s Uconnect 5 and Uconnect Theater systems.

The Alliance

Chrysler continues to offer the Calm Cabin package, assisting the Autism community to feel secure, tranquil, and comfortable while behind the wheel or in the passenger seat. The Calm Cabin package for the Chrysler Pacifica is available through the manufacturer’s online merchandise retail store, collection.chrysler.com. To that end, the Chrysler Pacifica minivans will be stocked with sensory support from the Autism Society and partners, establishing an inclusive experience to capture stories from Autistic individuals, family members, friends, and caregivers. Autism Society of America spokespeople will also be on hand during the Road to Acceptance project to engage with the community and share its advocacy work.
