The Ever-Changing Face of the Jeep Gladiator is Now Tuscadero Pink

On April 4, 2024, Jeep revived its widely adored Tuscadero pink paint for the Wrangler after customers pleaded and now the automaker is introducing it to the off-roader’s pickup sibling, the Jeep Gladiator. This is the first time that the paint option is offered on the Gladiator, and like the Wrangler, it is only available for a single model year (2024). An official press release from Stellantis claims it adds $895 MSRP (Plus destination fee) to the cost of the Gladiator Sport, Mojave, and Rubicon trims and is one of eight colors on offer for 2024.
The Popularity of Tuscadero
The infamous color debuted in August 2021 and generated such a high demand that Jeep was forced to extend production. For example, the exterior paint color was intended to be built through November, but due to high customer reaction, Jeep extended production to the end of the year (2021). Stellantis announced that over 30,000 customers ordered their Wrangler vehicles with the Tuscadero finish when it debuted in the 2021 model year. To that end, the brand is capitalizing on the color’s popularity once again by adding it to the 2024 Gladiator lineup.
Indeed, given that Stellantis lays the praise for getting this color approved at the feet of the Jeep community, it is safe to assume that the color will be ordered on thousands of Gladiator pickup trucks this year (2024). Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of North America’s Jeep brand declared, “Our passionate Jeep fans asked for this limited-run color on Gladiator. We heard them.” He added, “Now Gladiator is both the only pickup to deliver open air freedom and the only pickup available in Tuscadero.”
Customization Availability
That popularity will likely grow over time, as the manufacturer will offer Tuscadero on other trims beyond the Sport, Mojave, and Rubicon later this year (2024). Customers who want to see the finish in the metal can expect to find it in showrooms in the summer of 2024. Interestingly, the name takes inspiration from Pinky Tuscadero, a character in the hit 1970s sitcom Happy Days. Jeep previously described the color as a “deep and intense chromatic magenta.” A similar color called Furious Fuschia was also offered in 2010 for the Dodge Challenger.
It is worth noting that a large part of the Jeep lifestyle is customization, and the automaker intends to increase its scope for personal touches soon. The design and production of new Jeep Performance Parts items are heavily swayed by the input and ideas from Jeep’s enthusiastic customers. That said, these considerations resulted in the creation of the Gladiator High Top Concept, assembled to thoroughly test and finalize specifications of upcoming accessories and parts, but that is just the beginning. It can be assumed that Jeep’s loyal customers can expect many more Jeep Performance Parts items designed and engineered for all the enhanced capability and performance they are looking for.
