2021 Chrysler Pacifica is Already Earning Best New Family Car Awards

April 29th, 2020 by

Although the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is months away from its debut, Good Housekeeping, in partnership with Car and Driver, just named the 2021 model as its 2020 Best New Family Car award winner. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica, unveiled at the beginning of 2020 at the Chicago Auto Show, is adding to the model’s position as the most awarded minivan over the past four years. Good Housekeeping is publishing its full list in the May 2020 print edition of the publication, on newsstands today, and online.

The Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI) worked alongside Car and Driver to analyze hundreds of new vehicles, identify the top makes and models, and finally chose 15 vehicles as best-in-class. The Chrysler Pacifica has earned more than 130 industry accolades and honors since it was introduced in 2017. This marks the third consecutive honor from Good Housekeeping for the Chrysler Pacifica, as the model also won Best New Minivan of 2019, and won the Best New Hybrid honors in 2018.

Unveiled in February (2020) at the Chicago Auto Show, the new-and-improved Chrysler Pacifica model will now feature a new all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. This means America’s most capable minivan will now be the only minivan to offer both AWD and Stow ‘n Go seating. The AWD system offers enhanced traction for a wide variety of driving conditions — from snow-covered roads to non-paved surfaces — and it engages seamlessly at any speed, without needing the driver’s input.

The exterior of the 2021 Pacifica features a significant refresh, including changes to the fog lamps and taillamp and the front grille. These changes, although not significant for an overhaul, make the Pacifica look and feel more athletic across all trims. In addition, the 2021 Pacifica also delivers the most standard safety features in the industry — 97 standard and 14 new-as-standard safety features to be exact. Some of the new standard safety features include new Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (PAEB) and new LED lights.

Chrysler also introduced the latest top-of-the-line Pacifica trim, the Pacifica Pinnacle. The trim offers the most luxurious interior in its segment, featuring one of the Pacifica’s two new available integrated consoles. The consoles were designed to seamlessly function with the existing instrument panel. Additionally, the Pacifica Pinnacle also features Caramel Nappa leather seats with quilted side bolsters and perforated seat inserts, and seat backs on all three rows. Perhaps the most “out there” feature on the Pacifica Pinnacle is a unique set of two fully movable lumbar comfort pillows on the second-row captain’s chairs. The lumbar comfort pillows match the quilted style and Caramel color of the upholstery, and provide an additional touch of comfort and style for passengers.

Other upgrades on the 2021 Pacifica include an all-new 10.1-inch touchscreen display and a new Uconnect 5 infotainment system, making it the first time the all-new infotainment system is offered in a North American Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) vehicle. The 10.1-inch touchscreen — 20 percent larger than the outgoing touchscreen — not only replaces and enables processing speeds up to five times faster than the outgoing generation, it also delivers the largest standard touchscreen in its segment. One of the most innovative features for the 2021 Pacifica is the all-new FanCAM, an interior camera that projects a high-definition image that allows the driver to keep an eye on the action happening in the back. The FanCAM includes a clear-view of any rear-facing child seat occupants, a unique zoom-to-set feature, and a split-view display.
