Ram Trucks Honors the Air Force With its Latest “Built to Serve Edition” Pickup

September 24th, 2020 by

Ram Trucks is back and better than ever, and that’s not only because the truck maker just launched its hotly-anticipated Ram 1500 TRX model — the latest “Built to Serve Edition” pickup is also here!  The third installment honors the Air Force and is slated to enter production next month (October 2020) at Ram’s Sterling Heights  Assembly Plant. This latest debut signals the continuation of Ram’s dedication to celebrating America’s armed forces with five land, sea and air-based themed variations of the brand’s popular Ram 1500 pickup lineup. This latest installment is inspired by the Air Force and features an aeronautical-inspired theme with Billet Silver and Anvil exterior color options, as well as a black interior and black upholstery with Light Diesel Gray accent stitching.

“Ram continues to honor all of those who serve or have served in the United States armed forces with distinction through our latest ‘Built to Serve’ offering. The ‘Built to Serve’ adage is something Ram truck owners, whether civilian or military, are very familiar with as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce,” said Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand, FCA — North America.

Incidentally, the arrival of the third installment of the “Built to Serve Edition” pickups is just in time for the 73rd anniversary of the U.S. Air Force. Ram Trucks will continue to launch a new “Built to Serve Edition” pickup every three months, each one representing a different air, land, or sea-based military branch.  In addition, each of the existing five U.S. military branches have been (or will be) honored by Ram with two exclusive paint shades that evoke the history, the mission, and the spirit of the corresponding service branch. Every time Ram launches a new “Built to Serve Edition” pickup, the truck maker offers a low-volume paint option that’s exclusive to this particular program as well.

Other features potential buyers can expect on the “Built to Serve Edition” pickups include a United States flag decal, a “Built to Serve” decal on both of the rear quarter panels, 20-inch aluminum wheels with an edition-exclusive Technical Gray finish along with other features. On the exterior, the latest “Built to Serve Edition” boasts an all-black grille and surround, black-bezel premium lighting, and black bumpers. Additional complementary accents to the blacked-out design include  black badges, dual four-inch black exhaust tips, and black wheel-to-wheel side steps.

Ram also encourages owners  to display their military pride inside the cabin with “Built to Serve”-embroidered Velcro panels not only on the front seat, but also on the front of each seat’s inboard shoulder panel. The idea is for owners to apply their own patches, be they reginamental, flags, slogans, or tapes — all in the name of personalization.

  • All-Weather rubber slush mats
  • Cloth and vinyl Sport seats
  • Black Onyx Chrome interior
  • An optional lockable console storage
  • “Built to Serve” badge on the instrument panel
