2021 Chrysler Pacifica Slowly Rolls Off the Assembly Line
It’s official: the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is finally rolling off the assembly line at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Scheduled to arrive in dealerships before the end of the year, the revamped Chrysler Pacifica gives families everything they seek in a family mover and more. The model remains the only one to offer available all-wheel-drive and is still the only minivan in the industry with a plug-in hybrid option. Stow ‘n Go seating, more standard safety features than any other vehicle in the industry, and a refreshed exterior and interior design make the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hard to beat.
“FCA invented the minivan segment, and the new-for-2021 Chrysler Pacifica continues to drive our leadership and innovation. Whether it’s all-weather driving capability with Stow ‘n Go seating or more than 80 MPG and no range anxiety with the only plug-in hybrid minivan in the segment, the new Chrysler Pacifica gives families what they want and options that best fit their busy lives,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars — Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA — North America.
Orders opened up for the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica back in September (2020) with a starting price of $35,045 (plus destination fee), while the all-wheel-drive variant has a starting MSRP of $38,040 (plus destination fee). The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has a starting MSRP of $39,995 (plus destination fee) and continues to be eligible for a federal tax credit up to $7,500, as well as any local and state credits.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica
The new and redesigned 2021 Chrysler Pacifica offers the most advanced all-wheel-drive powertrain in its class. In addition, it’s also the only vehicle in its segment to offer all-wheel-drive paired with Stow ‘n Go seating, along with 97 standard safety features — the highest number of standard safety features in the industry. Lane Departure Warning, Rear Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Full Stop, Electronic Stability Control, Blind-Spot Monitoring, LED lights, Rear Cross Path Detection, Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking, Full Speed Forward Collision — all highly-coveted advanced safety features that the Chrysler Pacifica offers as a standard.
Although there’s one other minivan on the market that also offers all-wheel-drive, Chrysler’s new all-wheel-drive system is fully automatic and arguably the only one in the segment capable of transferring 100 percent of the engine’s available torque directly to the rear wheels, or whichever wheel has more available traction. Additionally, the Chrysler Pacifica’s all-wheel-drive system can sense when all-wheel-drive is not required, thus improving its overall efficiency.
Another big change on the 2021 Pacifica? The introduction of the brand’s most-advanced Uconnect 5 infotainment system. The model will mark the public’s first interaction with the new-and-improved infotainment system. Fittingly enough, the Pacifica is the perfect vessel in which to test how the infotainment system responds to the demands of entire families. The touchscreen is now 10.1 inches big, while the software can store various user profiles at once — perfect for those families that rotate between drivers and who gets to ride shotgun. Users can now choose their own personal climate, radio, and seat settings — all while switching profiles with the simple touch of a button.
Although the 2021 Pacifica won’t roll across dealer lots until the end of 2020, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy what the current model offers now.
