Stellantis is busy working behind the scenes on its electrification strategy for several vehicles in its portfolio. As more and more automakers start gravitating to the concept of sustainability, investing in battery-powered cars makes sense. For Stellantis, this means gradually transitioning from internal combustion engines to fuel cells as an eco-friendly mode of vehicle propulsion. Designing gasoline-free vehicles translates to a more sustainable model of engineering vehicles, a desirable proposition for Stellantis.

On the Road to Electrification

Several vehicles in Stellantis’ portfolio are converting to some form of battery technology and made available in the near future. New EV models entering the development phase include Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram, with other brands following soon after. According to Stellantis Insiders, at least six battery-powered vehicles are in the engineering phase. Like its competitors, Stellantis faces increasingly stricter emissions and fuel efficiency regulations, and in response to these conditions, Stellantis is getting to work on its electrification strategy.

Upcoming Jeep Magneto

The Jeep Magneto concept is the template for a fully electric Wrangler in the future, and Stellantis aims to add a battery-powered variant to its Wrangler SUV line-up. Jeep is currently working on an axial flux electric motor that puts out 285hp via air-cooled lithium-ion battery packs.

Electric Ram Pickup Coming Soon

Among other vehicles include an all-electric Ram pickup truck currently undergoing design and engineering tests at a Detroit tech center. The truck will compete against the Ford-150 Lightning and the battery-powered Silverado Chevrolet.

Rumored Electric Muscle Car

Stellantis claims that a battery-powered Dodge muscle car is currently in the planning and development phase. Insiders say this will be the fastest Dodge ever to dominate the auto industry with unparalleled raw horsepower and torque from a high-performance battery-pack configuration.
