A Dodge First: Protection Package Coupled with Performance Training

Even though Dodge has moved on from its iconic Hemi V-8 era and has begun the push toward electrified performance, enthusiasts and current owners of the illustrious muscle cars that helped give the brand its success are not to be forgotten. On the contrary, Dodge knows that its Brotherhood of Muscle is a vital player in its triumph, ushering in an announcement on April 18, 2024, that vehicle owners can now pair maximum vehicle protection with maximum performance thrills. To that end, the introduction of the new Dodge Complete Performance Package works in tandem with the vehicle factory powertrain warranty with coverage of over 5,000 critical components. Meanwhile, customers also get a day of high-performance driving instruction at Radford Racing School in Chandler, Arizona.
Dodge Complete Performance Package Breakdown
The Dodge Complete Performance Package, a key component of the Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan program, offers a comprehensive six-year/75,000-mile package. To clarify, this package not only provides protection for critical components such as the suspension, transmission, engine, and brakes, but also incorporates oil and filter services, lube, factory-recommended scheduled maintenance, tire rotations, and replacement of most wear/tear components. Additionally, it offers the invaluable benefit of a one-day Radford Racing School experience priced at $1,500. This includes exercises such as autocross, team slalom, and hot laps, with drivers behind the wheel of school-provided Dodge vehicles.
The purpose is to teach drivers the necessary skills to handle vehicles with power over 700 ponies, learn how to avoid accidents, and perform evasive maneuvers when necessary. Of note, these experiences are strictly for owners of Dodge/SRT vehicles, and thus, participants need to provide their VIN to enter. Of course, with it being included in this package, that will not be an issue, but to qualify for this package, there are some significant caveats. For example, to qualify, the vehicle must have been purchased in the last four months (2024) and must not have over 5,000 miles on the odometer. Moreover, it must be covered by the original factory five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, though it is not entirely clear if this means the vehicle had to be purchased brand new.
Where Does this Leave the Dodge Charger Daytona?
The package is not yet customized for the new-generation Charger with electric power. The zero-emission Dodge holds its position as the world’s fastest and most powerful muscle car, a title that the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack is credited with. The electric vehicle accelerates up to 670 horsepower and delivers 627 pound-feet of torque for a steadfast performance. It runs from zero to 60 miles per hour in merely 3.3 seconds and does the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 137 miles per hour.
The battery pack with a capacity of 100.5 kilowatt-hours will take drivers as far as 260 miles with the Scat Pack or 317 miles with the R/T. However, Dodge enthusiasts will also have an internal combustion engine option to select if they are not too keen on electric. That one comes with the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane engine instead of the Hemi with its 550 horsepower.
As mentioned, the package represents the first performance package offered by Mopar Vehicle Protection to incorporate a performance driving school session. Interestingly, Dodge has neglected to detail how much the package costs; instead, interested parties should head over to www.mvpdodgesrt.com for further information.
