If enthusiasts want a turn-key solution to an even more capable Rubicon, this could be the answer. It is certainly no secret that the aftermarket community supporting the Jeep Wrangler is extensive. Since the vehicle launched in 2018, there has been no shortage of shops willing to sell buyers whatever gear their hearts desire, including the gear to lift a two-door Wrangler and put it on 35s. Jeep wants a slice of that action, though, and as it did with the Xtreme Recon package, there is now the option to raise a Wrangler on 35-inch tires with a lift from the factory: Meet the Xtreme 35 Tire Package.
To clarify, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the brand announced plans to upgrade the legendary SUVās capability, offered for the first time on the new 2024 Wrangler Rubicon and Willys two-door models equipped with the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine. This is something that Ford Bronco owners have been enjoying for a couple of years (2022) now, but with the Wrangler encountering a plethora of competition on multiple fronts these days, it was only a matter of time before Jeep stepped it up.Ā
A Breakdown of the Xtreme 35 Tire Package
The Xtreme 35 Tire Package first debuted on the Wrangler four-door in 2021, enabling customers to add a common capability upgrade straight from the factory. Of note, it also kept the Jeep Wrangler competitive against the Ford Bronco, which has the Sasquatch Package. The BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires are mounted on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels. The package also includes a reinforced tailgate mount for the spare tire, a 1.5-inch lift kit with specially tuned shocks, and a 4.56:1 axle ratio.
Moreover, the 35s provide 12.6 inches of ground clearance, as well as approach, breakover, and departure angles of 47.2 degrees, 32.4 degrees, and 40.4 degrees, respectively, according to Jeep. The automaker also claims the ability to ford water up to 34.0 inches deep. These features make the Xtreme 35 Tire Package a game-changer, as it is all about pushing the limits. Indeed, owners can conquer challenging terrain with ease, ensuring that no obstacle stands in the way of their next adventure. The package turns the Jeep Wrangler into an unstoppable force of nature with unsurpassed performance.
Meeting Customer Demand
It is worth noting that Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America, shared the significance of paying careful attention to the needs of consumers: āOur passionate Jeep Wrangler customers are always asking for more ā more capability and more adventure ā so itās a natural follow up to the success weāve seen on the four-door Wrangler to now ā for the first time ever ā offer the 35-inch Tire Package on the two-door Wrangler.ā
The 2024 Wrangler Rubicon X two-door model with the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine takes things up a notch by featuring the Xtreme 35 Tire Package as standard equipment. With a starting price tag of $62,295 MSRP (Excluding $1,895 destination fee), this model ensures that adventure is exhilarating and accessible. Customer orders are now open for the Rubicon model. Later this quarter (2024), the package will be available for the Jeep Wrangler Willys two-door model. Additionally, production at the Toledo Assembly Plant in Ohio will begin in March of 2024.
