The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Earns a Spot on AAA’s Car Guide Top 10
The Chrysler Pacifica’s accolades continue to grow, as the Pacifica Hybrid model earned first-place honors in the 2020 AAA Car Guide SUV/Minivan category. Additionally, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid also finished in the top three in this year’s AAA Car Guide Top 10. These latest honors bring the Chrysler Pacifica to more than 135 total industry awards, helping the model dominate the minivan segment as the most awarded minivan four years in a row. AAA awarded the Pacifica Hybrid high marks on its Car Guide tests thanks to its plug-in capability, overall range, fuel economy and efficiency, ample cargo space, a smooth and seamless hybrid drivetrain, a spacious passenger area and more. When it comes to advanced safety features and cargo capacity, the Pacifica Hybrid earned a perfect 10 in the areas.
“These days, a vehicle buyer may feel overwhelmed or confused not only by the differences of how the vehicle is powered — either by gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric — but by which of the safety features they need and how those work in the real world. Our evaluations are designed to help drivers select a safe and comfortable vehicle that meets their needs. The Pacifica Hybrid is a solid choice for minivan customers,” said Megan McKernan, manager of the Automotive Research Center.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid made history as the segment’s first-ever hybrid offering, offering buyers more than 80 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe), an all-electric range of 30 miles, and a total range of more than 500 miles combined. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) designed a specially modified variant of its 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 gasoline engine and paired it with an innovative dual-motor eFlite electrically variable transmission. Designed to offer a seamless driving experience, the Pacifica Hybrid doesn’t need any input from the driver to switch between electric and hybrid modes.
Available with more than 100 standard and optional safety and security features, the Pacifica Hybrid also offers buyers plenty of room for a child seat in each of the second-row captain’s chairs, and another two additional child seats in the third row, making it the most kid-friendly minivan on the market. The Pacifica Hybrid also offers buyers the most advanced infotainment system available, including the optional Uconnect Theater with 10-inch seatback touchscreen displays when passengers both small and big can watch movies, stream videos, and play built-in games. With its seating capacity for up to seven passengers, its spacious interior, comfortable seating, and Stow ‘n Go capabilities, the Pacifica Hybrid is perfect for a family road trip. Other family-friendly functionality features include a hands-free liftgate and a hands-free sliding doors.
