Dodge’s “Roadkill Nights” Event is Prepared to Strike Again

MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge, the adrenaline-fueled street-legal drag racing phenomenon, is ready to ignite the center of downtown Pontiac, Michigan, on Saturday, August 12th, 2023. This highly anticipated occasion, known for attracting muscle car enthusiasts from far and wide, is extending its overall footprint and pledges to deliver a memorable experience. Having set a record-breaking one-day attendance of over 40,000 people in the 2022 model year, Roadkill Nights is changing the starting line for street-legal drag racing to the corner of Woodward Avenue and W. Pike St. in Pontiac.
This strategic relocation brings the exhilaration of racing to the heart of the city, making it more thrilling and accessible for attendees. Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, claiming, “We can’t wait to bring Roadkill Nights and street-legal drag racing to the heart of downtown Pontiac. Making the Rounds
Roadkill Nights, now in its eighth year, will mark its second stop of 2023 in Pontiac. The first event, Dodge Last Call Powered by Roadkill Nights, occurred on March 20th, 2023, at The Strip in Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Las Vegas event displayed high-octane drag races and presented the breathtaking helicopter-drop unveiling of the 1,025-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, the final installment of the Dodge “Last Call” special-edition automobiles.
As readers may recall, in honor of April 26th being HEMI Day, Dodge also revealed a 22-minute video for the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. The video took a behind-the-scenes glimpse at not only the launch of the 1,025-horsepower muscle car but also a sneak peek at the development of the car. During its development, Dodge set a goal of 100 quarter-mile passes for the Demon 170.

Mayor Tim Greimel conveyed his excitement about Roadkill Nights remaining in Pontiac and moving to the downtown area, underscoring its positive impact on the local community. He stated, “The move downtown will reduce noise to residential neighborhoods, while bringing more activity, customers and patrons to support downtown restaurants and other business establishments.”
