According to Jeep Executives, Amazon FireTV is going to be integrated into Jeep’s new full-size luxury SUV offering in the highly anticipated Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Jeep’s strategy in reviving the Wagoneer name involves not only modernizing it for today’s family SUV market but also transforming it into an entertainment hub for passengers. Both Wagoneer models will be revealed on March 11, 2021, and will be the first vehicles to ever receive Amazon Fire TV for Auto integration in the automotive industry. This infotainment integration will give passengers access to all their favorite shows, movies, apps, Alexa, and other features. According to Jeep, the system will work exactly like the Amazon FireTV in the home and will be accessible from already existing Amazon FireTV accounts.

News and Fast Facts

Since the advent of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, drivers could connect to their cars via their smartphones, but Jeep has taken a monumental step by offering streaming services for movies and TV shows with Amazon FireTV.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Wagoneer Models will be the first vehicles to offer Amazon FireTV (as standard)
  • Amazon Fire TV for Auto, which includes Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Twitch (with the potential to integrate other apps via future updates)
  • Will be viewable on the seatback screens and front-seat passenger screen. Drivers can watch on the central touchscreen when the vehicle is in park.

FireTV for Auto

With Fire TV as standard, consumers can pause a show in their home and seamlessly continue watching once they get into their vehicle. The content syncs with an existing Amazon account making it easy to navigate favorite apps and resume the playback of a show.

A Growing Technology

With Fire TV built-in, buyers of the new Wagoneer will be able to stream their favorite shows and movies all from the comfort of their brand new Wagoneer SUV.

Fire TV for Auto includes the following functionalities:

  • FireTV can be viewable in HD from the flat screens that are attached to the driver and front passenger seats
  • All controls will be touch-screen offering a seamless experience while looking for content to stream
  • A FireTV remote is included and provides full control of the entire viewing experience which facilitates looking and searching for Movies or episodes of TV shows.

The Future of Infotainment

Jeep knows in-car technology will continue to grow and that is why they have invested in their new and updated Uconnect 5 system that is content-rich and equipped with a whole host of personalization options that make it the most advanced Uconnect offering ever thus far in the full-size SUV segment. With future growth in mind, Jeep knows that in proving this new feature to potential buyers in the new Wagoneer, this will lay the foundation for future infotainment technology and software car buyers will come to know and love. For more information on the upcoming 2022 Jeep Wagoneer, you can fill out our contact form.
