Ram ProMaster Van Offers New Features for 2022
Ram releases the most durable, efficient, and reliable Promaster Van for the 2022 model year targeting commercial customers, Ram’s most sales-worthy market. Better Efficiency and Power
For 2022, the Ram ProMaster features a new generation 3.6 L Pentastar V6 engine that produces 280hp and 260 lb-ft of torque via a TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission. According to Ram, this new powertrain improves fuel economy by nine percent, which is considerably better than the outgoing model. The 2022 ProMaster Van can haul up to 6,910 lbs and carry a payload of 4,680 lbs, which is very useful for commercial customers who need to transport heavy supplies or equipment.
More Advanced Features
Useful standard safety features include Forward Collision Warning, Crosswind Assist, Dynamic Rear Backup Camera, Drowsiness Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, and an Electric Parking Brake. One of the newest safety and security features is a 360-degree Surround View Camera that offers a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings on a standard 7-inch touchscreen. However, a larger 10-inch unit is available. In addition, the standard rear-view mirror is upgradeable to one that has digital functions that display video in real-time (which is available on all ProMaster models). The ProMaster Van’s active driving assist is Level II Autonomous capable that provides automated driving features like automatic lane-centering and adaptive cruise control by using multiple sensors in the form of radars and cameras.
Updated Vehicle Technology
The new 10-inch touchscreen comes with Ram’s latest Uconnect 5 software featuring a split-screen function and SiriusXM (360L). Ram says the newest Uconnect system is five times faster than the system in the outgoing model and features Wi-Fi hotspot capability. The front passengers benefit from an available wireless smartphone charging pad and connectivity ports for quick device recognition that includes two USB outlets and dual Type-C ports that allow devices to charge up to four times faster. An optional 115V/150W outlet sits under the USB ports for extra charging power. Fleet customers also benefit from Ram’s Telematics, a vehicle telecommunication technology onboard the 2022 Ram ProMaster Van. It enables real-time vehicle tracking and driver behavior data to help reduce fuel costs, improve route efficiency, and promote safe driving.
Buying a New 2022 ProMaster Van
A base 2022 ProMaster Van has a starting price of $32,385 in the 1500 series. For the mid-tier option, buyers can opt for the 2500 series for more capability that starts at $35,285, and for the most features, the 3500 series is an excellent option with a base price of $36,815. (Keep in mind pricing is subject to change to accommodate destination fees and other optional equipment). The ProMaster Van comes in a low roof and a high roof configuration, three wheelbases, and four vehicle lengths that include 8ft, 10ft, 12ft, and 13.5ft. According to Ram, the new ProMaster Van is available for sale in Fall 2021. The company also has plans to release an all-electric ProMaster E-Van sometime in 2023 to electrify more of its vehicle lineup, but more information will be available shortly.
