Dodge began the 2024 model year with phenomenal news for enthusiasts of Hemi-powered SUVs: it let loose the Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI “Last Call.” The news had another side to it, though, as the model is to mark the final year of the SUV with this type of engine under the hood. Now, stepping into the fifth month of the year (2024), customers waiting to get their hands on one can finally do so.

The Dodge Horsepower Locator has returned, with the automaker rebooting the service to assist Mopar fans in locating the 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI, the first of the Last Call models for the SUV. Interested buyers can utilize the Dodge Horsepower Locator to find one of the Durango Last Call vehicles and can further refine their search by color and zip code radius.

Readers must be aware that unless their local Dodge dealership is a top performer, it will be challenging to find an AlcHEMI in the inventory. The manufacturer announced allocation is based on dealer sales performance. Dodge enthusiasts should not dawdle, either. It appears that production of the all-wheel-drive 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI will be limited to a run of up to 1,000 units.

Characterizing the AlcHEMI

Motivated by the cherished 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine, the Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI pays tribute to the 475-horsepower motor and represents the last batch of these vehicles. Four exterior finishes are available: Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray, Diamond Black, and White Knuckle. Regardless of the chosen paint color, the AlcHEMI receives SRT Brembo brakes with yellow calipers, 20-by-10-inch forged SRT wheels with a Satin Black finish, and honeycomb-textured stripes with yellow accents.

Other exterior updates include ‘392’ fender decals in Satin Black and yellow. The rear badging and grille receive a Midnight Metallic finish, while black exhaust tips round out the exterior modifications. The interior also gets its fair share of adjustments. For example, yellow and silver stitching can be found on the steering wheel, shifter, seats, and SRT 392 embroidery on the seatbacks. Forged carbon fiber inlays incorporate an athletic touch to the cabin, while the leather-trimmed steering wheel receives a red SRT logo with LEDs. The starting price tag is $89,795 MSRP (excluding a $1,595 destination fee).

The Final Plans for the Dodge Durango

The SRT 392 AlcHEMI is likely the last of the Hemi-propelled Durango models, as Dodge indicates production will finalize in July 2024. Perhaps that means that the 710-horsepower 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 engine will power the rest of the Durango Last Call iterations. Moreover, production of the V-8-powered Durango will cease by December 31, 2024, suggesting a few more special edition models are on the way.

Like the new Charger, the Durango replacement will be available in battery-electric and gasoline-powered variants. Additionally, rumors hint that the replacement will bear the Stealth nameplate, but this information has yet to be officially confirmed. Whatever occurs, enthusiasts are grateful that Dodge is commemorating its legacy and customers by releasing these Last Call models.
