The Showdown Returns: Dodge Direct Connection Grudge Match!

August 13th, 2022 will be a day for car enthusiasts to remember and to take note of in their calendars! Tickets are officially available for the seventh edition of MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge! This is an annual event that is getting a refreshing and thrilling new twist from last year’s popular online automotive builder showdown. This year, competitors will get the unique opportunity to use Dodge Direct Connection parts to build a drag-race machine under a tight time limit before they bring it to Woodward Avenue to face each other head-on! The all-star lineup brought by Dodge and MotorTren will compete in a bracket-style showdown where the winner will face last year’s winner Alex Taylor in the Dodge Direct Connection Grudge Match!
A Little More About the Grudge Match
Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand chief executive officer of Stellantis had this to say about the event: “The Grudge Match was a hit last year, so we’re bringing it back to Roadkill Nights. But this time, we’re giving competitors Direct Connection parts to use as building blocks in assembling their race cars. It’ll be fun to see if Alex can defend her crown against a mix of returning racers and new blood. Last year, everyone learned that getting traction is the key to street racing on Woodward Avenue. So this year, we’re upping the ante. All competitors will be running a Direct Connection crate engine that they can modify however they want, but they will all have the added challenge of competing with a Direct Connection six-speed manual transmission.”
Dodge Roadkill Nights
Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge brings enthusiasts through a legal street drag race that will take place on Woodward Avenue and will also bring along with it a gorgeous muscle car show, a myriad of interactive experiences, a closer look at the three new products being unveiled, and the reign of Dodge thrill and drift rides in the Challenger and Charger Hellcats through the M1 Concourse. This list of events will be a part of Dodge’s Speed Week, which will be kicked off by a press conference on August 12th, and the week will wrap up on August 20th. Gates will open for the Roadkill Nights event on August 13th at 10 a.m. and will run until 9 p.m. that day with the drag race beginning promptly at 11 a.m. that can also be viewed on a Livestream. Another thing that enthusiasts can look forward to is the Mopar Career Automotive Program having an on-site information tent for anyone interested in joining the next generation of highly skilled service techs!

Some incredibly special guests will be attending this event and taking part in the competition against Alex Taylor in the Dodge Direct Connection Grudge Match. Guests like Freddy Hernandez (Tarvish), Westen Champlin, Throtl (Mickey Andrade, Rickie Fernandez, and Quinn Clark), Christina Roki, Herman Young (Deomonology), Tony Arme (Corruptt Builds), Colette Davis, and David Patterson (ThatDudeInBlue) will all be in attendance for the event and ready to duke it out with the reigning champion!
