What’s New for the Dodge Charger and Challenger series?

As all automotive companies are turning to electric vehicles for the future, and although Dodge is definitely partaking in that movement; the company still sees and hears their fans who might not entirely be comfortable with transitioning just yet! Dodge has made a promise to have 50 percent of their products transition into EVs by 2030, but until then, enthusiasts can rest assured that they will still provide gasoline-operated vehicles. Some of those vehicles will include crowd favorites like the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger and within the coming years (or even sooner than expected) they will have some updates that will blow anyoneās mind!Ā
New Changes and Updates
Stellantis has a large, rear-drive platform coming and it seems it can fit a V-8 engine and will be separate from the EV skateboard chassis that will be available on other large Stellantis vehicles. The new vehicle architecture will underpin a few vehicles and those will include both the Charger and the Challenger. This will give the vehicles a much lighter feel and will, in turn, handle much better than ever before. While designs are still being finalized, itās been speculated that Dodge wants to keep the look of the models as similar to the ones weāve seen throughout the years as that characteristic has been a huge part of what has kept it ranked high among car enthusiasts. Buyers can also expect the 8-speed automatic transmission to remain a choice, and for those residing in the Northeast, an AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) option will also be available.
Though the specific engine types and specifications have not been unveiled for the new Dodge Charger and Challenger vehicles, with the current statistics of the 392 V-8, it can be expected that fans will see similar power to the 485 horsepower engine. With the Mopar 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane I6 engine that delivers over 500 horsepower, it is definitely a starting point for Dodge when it comes to choosing engine type for these vehicles. Perhaps they might choose to take the Hurricane I6 for their options and save the V-8 engine for the Hellcat trim! Either way, we can all expect a lot of power, and a lot of bang for our buck!
